FAQs
What does a hair diffuser do?
A hair diffuser spreads a hairdryer's airflow across a wider area instead of directing a strong stream of air onto the hair. The MOYOKO Diffuser helps preserve natural curl patterns, reduce frizz and create fuller-looking curls while drying.
How do you use a diffuser on curly hair without frizz?
Start with damp hair and apply a suitable curl cream and heat protectant. Attach the MOYOKO Diffuser, select low airflow and gentle heat, then cup small sections of curls into the diffuser. Avoid constantly moving or touching the hair, and finish with cool air for a more defined result.
Does the MOYOKO Diffuser fit any hairdryer?
The MOYOKO Diffuser is designed for the MOYOKO E8 Hairdryer. It may also fit hairdryers with a compatible 4.7cm outside nozzle diameter. Measure the dryer connection before buying and check that the nozzle shape allows a secure fit. It is not guaranteed to fit every hairdryer.
What hairdryer nozzle size fits the MOYOKO Diffuser?
The specified connection is 4.7cm (47mm) in diameter. Measure across the outside of the bare hairdryer nozzle where the diffuser attaches. A matching diameter is important, but shape and attachment design must also be compatible.
Is a diffuser good for wavy hair?
Yes. The MOYOKO Diffuser helps enhance natural waves by gently drying hair without blowing the wave pattern apart. For softer waves, use low airflow, avoid excessive handling and gently lift sections towards the roots.
Does a hair diffuser help reduce frizz?
Yes, when used correctly. The MOYOKO Diffuser spreads airflow more gently than a concentrated hairdryer nozzle, helping reduce the movement that can disturb curls and create frizz. Lower heat, lower airflow and minimal touching also help keep curls defined.
Can a diffuser make curly hair more voluminous?
Yes. The MOYOKO Diffuser has a wide bowl and curl-supporting fingers that help lift hair at the roots while drying. This can create fuller-looking curls and more natural volume without relying on strong direct airflow.
Is diffusing hair better than air-drying?
It depends on the hair and styling goals. Air-drying requires no powered heat, but it can take longer. The MOYOKO Diffuser offers more control over drying and can help define curls and create volume. Low or medium heat is generally preferable to excessive heat.
What heat and speed settings should I use with a diffuser?
For curly, wavy and coily hair, start with low airflow and low to medium heat. This helps preserve curl definition and limit frizz. Increase settings only if needed and comfortable, then finish with the hairdryer's cool-shot function to help set the style.
Can a diffuser damage curly hair?
Like any heated styling method, excessive temperature or prolonged heat exposure can contribute to damage. The MOYOKO Diffuser distributes airflow more gently but does not eliminate heat damage. Use a heat protectant, select appropriate settings and avoid holding high heat on one section for too long.
